Company Overview
Bama Company (Public Joint Stock), with over 70 years of experience in the mining industry, has been active in mineral exploration, extraction, and mine operation in Iran since 1951. The company has focused its expertise on mineral processing, including the production of concentrate and its conversion into zinc ingots. In addition to serving the domestic market, Bama is also engaged in export operations. Its core business encompasses ore dressing, smelting, commercial trading, and laboratory services.
Bama continuously updates its mining and processing activities in response to the country's evolving conditions. As an industry pioneer, despite facing certain limitations, we have effectively maintained and operated advanced machinery from previous decades. Particularly in the processing sector, we have introduced innovations in the use of specialized chemicals that are unmatched globally. This level of sophistication and diversity in chemical application stems from years of research and development at our dedicated R&D center.
Our technical office oversees all extraction operations, providing continuous supervision and guidance. Daily monitoring of exploration and mining activities has led to a 0.5% increase in ore grade recovery over the past year. This achievement was accomplished alongside reduced tonnage, meaning more metal was extracted at a lower cost and with less waste generated. In today’s challenging economic landscape, this strategic shift has been instrumental in lowering operational costs. Our R&D center also focuses on testing various ore types and optimizing chemical usage to improve recovery rates and processing efficiency at the plants.
In 2023, Bama Company achieved significant milestones in underground mining and the localization of extraction methods. The company's operations team, proficient in all major underground mining techniques, set new records in tunnel advancement and exploratory core drilling. Additionally, innovative designs for extracting caved high-grade ore led to remarkable progress. Alongside these achievements, a research project for constructing an SX (Solvent Extraction) plant for low-grade carbonate ores is currently underway and is expected to be operational by June 2025. These developments highlight the company’s continuous growth and advancement in the mining sector.
By leveraging its extensive experience in mineral processing, Bama Company has successfully completed the production cycle from mine extraction to zinc ingot production. In this process, the Zinc Smelting Company plays a vital role in the production of zinc oxide and ingots. This strategic collaboration has led to increased production capacity and improved efficiency across various stages. Through these achievements, Bama has solidified its position as one of the pioneers in the zinc processing industry. Completing this production cycle marks a significant milestone in the company’s growth and development.
By localizing underground mining technology, Bama Company has played a pioneering role in the development of this industry in Iran. As one of the first companies to introduce this technology to the country's underground mines, Bama has served as a model whose experience and technologies have benefited many other players in the sector. Bama’s experts have been transferred to other companies, and the equipment used by Bama has contributed to improving mining processes in other operations. Underground mining, as one of Bama’s key achievements, has established the most sustainable and efficient operational method for the company within the mining industry.
Bama Company, by completing the production chain of lead and zinc concentrate from exploration and extraction to processing and concentrate production is one of the pioneers of this industry in Iran. Utilizing advanced technologies and a specialized team, the company has managed to fully control mining processes and achieve high-quality mineral production. Over 70 years of expertise in this field has solidified Bama’s position in both domestic and international markets. Moreover, this comprehensive approach leads to increased efficiency and reduced costs across all stages of production. As a responsible company, Bama consistently takes steps toward sustainability and environmental protection.

Selective extraction and concurrent mine rehabilitation have significantly minimized environmental impact. Innovation in mineral processing using unique chemical formulations, and projects such as the SX plant, reinforce sustainability. With solar power installations and green energy initiatives, Bama continues to move toward a greener future.

Exploration
Reconnaissance: At this stage, potential areas for mineral exploration are identified using geological surveys, satellite imagery, and geophysical data. Priority zones are then selected for more detailed investigations.
Prospecting: This phase involves field investigations to detect early signs of mineral deposits. It includes geological mapping, surface sampling, and the use of geophysical and geochemical methods to evaluate the mineral potential of the region.

Mining
In this stage, lead and zinc ores are extracted from the mines and transported to processing facilities. After extraction, the minerals undergo primary processing, including crushing, screening, and separation of valuable ores from waste materials.

Processing
Flotation is a key process used in mineral processing, paper recycling, and wastewater treatment. It separates hydrophobic materials from hydrophilic ones. In industrial and mining operations, flotation enables the economic recovery of low-grade ores, enhancing efficiency and reducing waste.
